Meet the Pavese Family!
Written By Resident: Erica Pavese | Photos by Kim Amlung and Erica Pavese
Christopher and Erica Monk Pavese family have owned property in Boone County since 2003 and moved across the street from Walton to Union when they bought their current home in Triple Crown. Chris and Erica were married in Walton over 14 years ago and are active members of St. Timothy Catholic Church. They love living in Triple Crown and the small community feel it offers. You can often find them walking the neighbor’s dog, playing at the park, driving their golf cart around, or lounging at the pool.
They have 3 daughters including, Alexys (Lexy) who is 11 years old and a sixth grader at St. Timothy. Their other two daughters are Candess and Caitlien, both of whom are happily married and living in Washington State. With the empty rooms from the two older daughters on their own, the Pavese family have served as a host-family to exchange students as well as Florence Freedom/Y’all baseball players.
Chris is originally from West Coast, while Erica moved to Union from Price Hill in Cincinnati before Ryle was built and was one of the first graduating classes. They met at a National Leadership Conference for the US Jaycees where Chris was serving as the Washington State Executive Director and Erica was serving as the Kentucky State President. Erica was adamant that Kentucky was the only place to raise their family and Chris couldn’t agree more.
The entire family is very fond of their two cats who are brothers that were adopted from a rescue. Felipe (an orange tabby) is very friendly and greets all visitors; has yet to meet a stranger. He is Lexy’s shadow, waiting at the front door looking for the bus in the morning and again in the afternoon. Juneau (dark Long-haired) is the laid-back cat who enjoys sunning and playing fetch with his favorite toys.
Lexy is a 6 th grader at St. Timothy Catholic School where she is actively involved in a diverse number of activities: Golf, Drama, KUNA Club, American Heritage Girls, Challenge, Youth Group and 4H. She is compassionate, funny, competitive, and fiercely independent. Erica graduated from Ryle High School and attended NKU where she graduated with a degree in English and minor in Elementary Education. Erica recently transitioned from a career in the Transportation Sector to pursuing her true passion of teaching. Erica is an active volunteer at St. Timothys Church, American Heritage Girls, 4H, Boone County Jaycees, St. Tim’s Catholic School and its family ministries (PTO). She also enjoys hosting Bunco parties, traveling, and crafting.
Chris served his country in the Navy and worked as an IBEW Electrician before choosing to use his GI Bill to complete his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Gonzaga University. Chris has served in multiple leadership roles for volunteer organizations to business ownership; and in each opportunity, he’s had the pleasure of providing servant leadership, a pillar of his Jesuit education.
Last year, Chris retired from Duke Energy after a remarkable 33-year career in the electrical industry to pursue an ownership role with an engineering firm. Chris is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Kentucky and belongs to the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers where he was awarded with the Terrell Award last year while serving his second term as the Northern Kentucky State Director and remains in service within the Northern Kentucky Chapter as a Chairman. Chris is also a licensed pilot and when he’s not convincing his family and friends to fly with him on an adventure, he donates his time and resources to fly humanitarian missions. Chris is a parish member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and serves on the School Board at St. Timothy Catholic School in Union, KY.
Chris is excited for his next opportunity to serve our community as the Kentucky State Representative for the 60th District. As a father, husband, and professional engineer, he will represent our community in Frankfort capitalizing on a proven track record of professional and charitable leadership experiences. As a candidate, Chris is anxious to hear more from residents about the best way to accomplish this goal. You can learn more about his campaign at www.paveseforky.com
